Join us for a month-long competition with preliminaries starting in July. The best salsa dancers in the region battle for cash, prizes, and the championship trophy! Join in the festivities for this special event and cheer on your favorite couples!

$500 cash prize & trophies to the winning amateur couple! $100 cash prize & trophies will be awarded to each of the 2nd/3rd place contestants.

Official Rules: Preliminaries will consist of couples competing for crowd approval by dancing to a salsa song for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Dance instructors that teach on a regular basis in exchange for money do not qualify to compete in this category--if you have questions or concerns about your eligibility in this category, please contact Edgar Mendez at 901-484-6999. Winners will qualify based off of Crowd Approval and be awarded $100---so bring your friends to help cheer you on! Contestants that do not win in a preliminary can compete again in the next week's preliminary and so on for additional chances to qualify. Preliminaries will be every Friday from July 9th until August 6th.

Those that win the preliminaries will compete in the finals on September 10th. Out of town couples do not have to pre-qualify for the finals. All out of town couples must register with Edgar Mendez at 901-484-6999 before August 27th in order to be able to compete in the finals. The Crowne Plaza Hotel will be offering a special rate between $99 to $109 per night to those coming to Memphis for the competition. The Rules for the Finals are as follows: The routine time length must be at least 2 min and no more than 2.5 min.
